He graduated in Law, with a specialization in International Law at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan, Italy. When he was still a student, he was elected Vice President of the largest youth political organization in Europe, with head office in Brussels. For two mandates, he was the person in charge of relationswith European Institutions. At the same time, he started a collaboration as Campaign Manager with an American no-profit organization, running a large number of training courses, mainly in the Balkan region and in Northern Africa.
He was selected by the European Parliament for the Young Leadership Forum of the Eastern Partnership and EU. He has taken part in various political election observations in non-European countries, and in 2014 he was a member of the “Juncker road trip campaign” staff for the Presidency of the European Union. Having completed his studies, after an internship in London for a leading defence company and aftertraining in a law firm, he worked as an Advisor for the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Italian Senate, mainly taking care of relations with the Euro-Asian area and with the Inter- parliamentary Union (IPU).
In 2018, during the Italian Chairmanship of the OSCE, the largest regional security organization in the world, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs appointed him as Special Representative of the Chairperson-in-Office on Innovation Technology, Youth and Security.
Riccardo has also been a Visiting Professor at the School of Governance and Politics of the MoscowState Institute of International Relations (MGIMO University), a Junior Fellow of the Aspen Institute and achieved a diploma in Geopolitics and Global Security at the Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI).
He has a great passion for travelling and for innovative start-ups, where he is also actively involved as a Business Angel.
